Dallas Cowboys: Jason Garrett out, Mike McCarthy in as head coach

The Dallas Cowboys announced on Monday that Mike McCarthy is in as head coach following the firing of Jason Garrett.

Early Monday morning, the Dallas Cowboys officially hire former Green Bay Packer coach Mike McCarthy as their new head coach, per Jay Glazer.

The hiring came after the Cowboys inform former head coach Jason Garrett he was no longer apart of the teams future and fired him Sunday, and after conducting only two interviews for the position.

McCarthy, 56, was in the running for multiple head coaching jobs including the NFC east rival New York Giants. McCarthy has an overall record of 135-85-2, missed the playoffs in 2017 and went 4-7-1 before being fired by Green Bay in 2018.
