Golden State Warriors: Klay Thompson listed as questionable for Game 3

Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson listed as questionable following Game 2 injury.

The Golden State Warriors and Klay Thompson may be able to take a huge sigh of relief. An MRI late Monday afternoon confirmed that Thompson suffered a mild strain in his left hamstring. Thompson’s injury occurred in the fourth quarter of the Warriors Game 2 109-104 victory Sunday night against the Toronto Raptors.

Thompson came up enormous during the Warriors victory in Game 2. He recorded 25 points on 55.8 percent shooting from the field, 66.7 percent from behind the arc, five rebounds, and five assists in the win. Unfortunately for the Warriors, despite being listed as questionable, Thompson’s hamstring injury will affect the 19.5 points he has provided Golden State throughout the postseason.

In addition to Thompson, the injury bug hit the Warriors twice in Game 2. Golden State’s Big man Kevon Looney who has made his mark throughout the Warriors playoff run, suffered a non-displaced cartilage fracture on the right side of his rib cage and is out indefinitely.

With Looney and Thompson added to the Warriors’ injury list and no sign of Kevin Durant returning, Golden State will have to rely heavily on their Strength in Numbers motto to close out the series.
