According to ESPN reports, New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis received good news on his latest injury.
According to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, Anthony Davis could return to the court as soon as next week for the New Orleans Pelicans. Davis, 25, visited a hand specialist on Wednesday and the damage to his injured finger was not as severe as originally feared.
Wojnarowski also reported that Davis will be re-evaluated on Friday, to determine his status for Tuesday night matchup against the Houston Rockets. Davis originally sustained the injury while swiping at the ball on a defender late in the Pelicans’ 128-112 loss to the Blazers on Friday.
While sitting 12th in the Western Conference with a 22-25 record, the Pelicans need all the help they can get to make a run at the playoffs. And with a potential return from Davis, their chances may have improved a bit.
In just 41 games this season, the Kentucky product is averaging 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.6 blocks in his seventh season.
