The Streak Ends Where it Started

Well, it had to end at some point.

The 9-game winning streak is officially over. The hottest team in the NFL has finally been cooled down.

The Texans streaked has been snapped by the team who started their streak, the Indianapolis Colts. We all knew that the Colts were going to come to Houston with their A-game and was going to do everything necessary to end what they started.

The Texans faced many challenges this game. They played most of the game with 2 healthy WRs. The offensive line was horrible once again. The new owner of the Texans T.Y. Hilton took over once again. It was too much for the Texans to overcome, yet they only lost 24-21.

There’s not much to talk about with this loss. The Texans still have a two game lead over the AFC South, but did blow a chance to be the 2nd seed in the AFC.

Here are some of the heroes of Week 14

JJ Watt

Watt was probably the only good thing about the Texans defense. Watt finished the game with a sack. He now has 12.5 sacks this season and is the favorite for comeback player of the year.

Zeroes

Shareece Wright

How is this guy still on the Texans? I rather have Kevin Johnson playing than him honestly. It appears that every TD he was responsible for today.

Texans Secondary

Wright wasn’t the only person that was terrible in the secondary. It seems that the Texans secondary struggles greatly when they play elite QBs. Andrew Luck once again had a field day against this Texans secondary. Playoffs are coming up. The Texans will play QBs like Big Ben, Phillip Rivers, Patrick Mahomes, possibly Andrew Luck, and of course Thomas Brady. If they can’t figure out how to slow down the elite QBs, the chances of them making a Super Bowl is highly unlikely.

Offensive Line

The offensive line had one of their worst performances today. While some of the sacks were on Deshaun Watson, the offensive line gave up 5 sacks and 7 QB hits. They will have to perform better if they want to have a chance in the playoffs.

Bill O’Brien

I’m putting him on the list simply because he decided to play Joe Webb as WR throughout the entire game. I get that Keke Coutee and Deandre Carter was hurt, but with Sammie Coates, Jordan Atkins, and Jordan Thomas as receiving options, you play Joe Webb? Come on Billy boy!

Well, the win streak was fun. This is the first article I have written following a Texans loss, and it doesn’t feel good at all. The Texans have a chance to get back on track this Saturday against the Jets. I’ll see you all then!
