Texans Makes History!

If you don’t believe that you can turn your life around after having a horrible start, then you need to look at the 2018-2019 Houston Texans! They are a perfect example of turning their situation around after a bad start.

The Texans once again made history last Monday night after defeating the Tennessee Titans 34-17. This win marks the 8th consecutive victory for the Texans, the most in franchise history. The win also marks the most consecutive wins after starting the season 0-3.

It was an emotional night at the NRG Stadium. The night began by paying respects to owner Bob McNair after he past away last week. The Titans were able to jump out ahead 10-0 in the first quarter. However, the Texans regrouped and outscored the Titans 34-7 the rest of the way. The Texans are now 8-3 with a 2-game lead in the AFC South.

Here are my Heroes of week 12:

Lamar Miller

There’s no other way I can start this article without crediting Lamar Miller’s performance. Miller made history last Monday by scoring a 97-yard TD, giving the Texans all of the momentum they needed to beat the Titans.

Miller finished the day with 162 yards, and is my hero of week 12!

Demaryius Thomas

It is about time we finally get to see Demaryius Thomas’s breakout game. He scored his first TD as a Texan last Monday night.

Thomas went on to find the end zone later on in the game, finishing the night with 4 catches, 38 yards, and 2 TDs. Let’s see can he continue to grow into his new system and really be a strong contributor for the Texans offense.

Christian Covington

A new name is appearing on my hero list! Christian Covington finished the game with 2.5 sacks. He had a great impact on the game and was able to secure his first sack of the season. I believe this was good enough to be included in my list.

J.J. Watt

This name isn’t new to my list. It seems as if Justin James Watt appears on my list every other week. Watt bought real estate in the Titans backfield and resided there the entire game. Watt stuffed the stat line Monday night, finishing with 1.5 sacks, 2.5 TFL, 3 QB hits, and a forced fumble.

Deshaun Watson

I believe we witnessed one of Deshaun Watson’s best performances as a Texans on Monday Night. That says a lot because Watson has had many great performances in his short career. We saw a great all-around game from Watson. He finished the night with 19/24, 210 passing yards, 2 TDs, 70 rushing yards, and a rushing TD.

If you had any doubt before, there shouldn’t be any more after this game. Deshaun Watson is the future for the Texans.

Zeroes

Pass Defense

The secondary can be both a strength and a weakness for the Texans. Though it didn’t cost us the victory Monday night, the Secondary was definitely a weakness for the Texans. The defense allowed Marcus Mariota to go 22/23, 303 passing yards, and 2 TDs. How they didn’t win the game with that stat line is beyond me, but the Texans defense must get this corrected if they want to contend in the playoffs. If sub-par QBs like Marcus Mariota can shred this defense like this, imagine what the Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady’s, Phillip Rivers, and other great QBs could do.

That’s all I have for today. The Texans have a tough matchup coming up as the Cleveland Browns come into town this Sunday. I’ll give you my thoughts on that match-up later on this week. Until then, get into the comment section and argue with me!
