One of the NFL’s top receiver is still on the market and three teams should look to acquire Dez Bryant before it is too late.

On Thursday, August 2, the Chicago Bears will meet the Baltimore Ravens in Canton, OH for the 2018 Hall-of-Fame Game. This preseason opener means one thing for football fans around the world, the start of the 2018 NFL season is only weeks away.

With the season set to begin on September 6, one of the NFL’s biggest stars may not have a home at the start of the new year.

Despite a mediocre season that saw him record 69 receptions, 838 yards, and six touchdowns as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, Dez Bryant is the most polarizing player left on the market. Although injuries have slowed him down over the years, the 29-year old free agent still remains one of the top receivers in the league.

With training camp less than a weak old, it’s shocking that no team has taken the opportunity to sign the three-time pro-bowler. Sure, the Cleveland Brown have expressed interested in signing him, but a move to The Land seems like a desperate situation for Bryant at this stage in his career.

With his ability to dominate the game with the quickness and athleticism, here are three teams who should take a chance and sign Bryant.

San Francisco 49ers

If Bryant only cares about playing for a team who will give him a chance at recapturing his glory days as a Cowboy, then the San Francisco 49ers would be a great choice.

Coming off an impressing 2017 season where they finished 6-10, the Niners are looking to build off their improvements in 2018. They have their franchise quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo, and the signing of Richard Sherman seems like a move that can help get San Francisco back to their winning ways.

And the addition of Bryant would not be any different.

Although they have Marquise Goodwin and Pierre Garcon, neither of the two stands out as the Niners’ number one option. Signing Bryant will give San Francisco their best receiver in recent years, as well as giving Garoppolo a three-headed monster to feed on Sundays.

New Orleans Saints

Despite playing with the subpar talents of Tony Romo for the majority of his career, Bryant was still able to establish himself as one of the top receivers in the league. His astonishing play alongside Romo led many to ponder, how great Bryant would have been playing next to one the NFL’s greatest quarterbacks of his generation?

The same can be said for New Orleans Saints quarterback, Drew Brees. Like Bryant, Brees has never played with an elite receiver but still managed to enter his name as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time.

No disrespect to Brandin Cooks nor Marques Colston, but neither players were as good as Bryant during the prime of his career.

With Brees set to return for the next two years, it would be nice to see the Saints finally pair him with one of the best receivers in the game. As well as finally seeing Bryant paired with one of the best quarterbacks in league history.

The Brees to Bryant connection will easily become one of the most fierce duos in the league. And the leadership of Brees would help control some of Bryant’s off-field antics that has plagued him throughout his eight-year NFL career.

New England Patriots

From one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation to arguably the greatest of all-time. If he is willing to take less than top dollars, the New England Patriots would be the best fit for Bryant.

The Patriots will give him his best opportunity to win a title, but Bryant would no longer be required to carry the burden of an offense like he did while in Dallas. The opportunity to play with less workload can help extend Bryant’s career to another five years.

As for New England, the Patriots will quickly become one of the greatest teams in league history. The addition of Bryant would give five-time MVP, Tom Brady, a potential of four deadly targets to execute down the field every Sunday.

Just think, a line that features Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Malcolm Mitchell, and Bryant would easily be enough to win the next two Super Bowls with ease.

Also, with the opportunity to be coach by one of the greatest coaches in NFL history. Perhaps Bill Belichick can help maximize what is left of Bryant’s potential as he enters the twilight of his career.
