Chris Bosh, who has not played an NBA season since 2016 could be looking at a return to the NBA as a member of the Lakers.

It has been nearly two years since he last played in the NBA, but 11-time All-Star Chris Bosh has not given up hopes on a return to the NBA. According to Sean Deveney of Sporting News, Bosh plans to make his case for why he should be allowed to rejoin the NBA, and his preferred destination would be rejoining the Los Angeles Lakers.

“A source told Sporting News that Bosh could petition the league again for a return to action, arguing that advances in blood-thinning medication make him less likely to have an on-court problem and that he’s willing to accept responsibility for any such incidents. Rob Pelinka, now the Lakers’ general manager, was Bosh’s agent before he had to retire, and has a close connection with Bosh. Earlier this season, Bosh worked out at the Lakers’ practice facility, raising some questions about a possible future with the Lakers.”

In February of 2015 and 2016, Bosh’s basketball career came to a halt after he was diagnosed with blood cloth as a member of the Miami Heat.
Despite the life-threatening illness that ended his career, Bosh has remained adamant about his return to the NBA. If he does come back, the Lakers who give Bosh the chance to link back up with his former agent, Rob Pelinka, and teammate, LeBron James in Los Angeles.

James and Bosh spent four years playing together for the Heat and won two championships during their time. Despite not playing with one another since 2014, this one-two punch can still be deadly in the league.

Regardless of the criticism, Bosh would be the perfect fit for the Lakers during the 2018-19 season. He was one of the original stretch big men, and his ability to run the floor and hit baskets from the outside would have a tremendous effect for the Lakers.
Drafted with the fourth overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in 2003, Bosh played 12 seasons where he averaged 19.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, while shooting 49.4 percent from the field in 893 games.
